Wonderful Place to get Married!
Dee really knows how to make a wedding happen. My mother actually picked this place out and I was really worried that it would not be what I was wanting. But it turned out to be awesome. I life on the east coast so it was all really up to my family to get everything done, they live in Lynden.
My husband and I really liked that we could have an indoor and outdoor experience for our day. The property was huge and had a ton of options. The land it really pretty; flowers everywhere.
The couple who runs it seemed really great (again my Mother did most of the work). The day was perfect as I had hoped it would be. I would definitely check this place out when you are considering options.

Beautiful Location, with bad attitudes and an unwelcome atmosphere
We had our wedding at Tail Skid Meadows in august of 2010. The location is beautiful, the pictures are all beautiful, and the hanger is decorated nicely! I wouldn't change my wedding for the world, but if I had known how unpleasant the whole experience of working with Dee would be I might rethink if the pictures/location were worth the bad attitude and lack of willingness to carry through on her job.
The first thing to consider is that Dee has the bridal/grooms party get ready in two rooms in her house. This should be a fine thing! However, the whole time we all felt so unwelcome and as if we were intruding and should be apologizing for being there! A "light lunch" is served downstairs and "no food at all is allowed in the changing rooms" but Dee brought our lunch too late and I had to be put in my wedding dress already and I couldn't go downstairs to get lunch since my groom was down there. And since we weren't allowed to take food upstairs, I didn't get to eat anything before going down the aisle.
The second thing I should mention is that Dee has her mother sit in the kitchen during the whole wedding throwing you the evil eye and telling you EVERY SINGLE TIME to take your shoes off, as if we didn't hear her the first 10 times! And later during the reception, three of my bridesmaids helped me to the bathroom (my dress was ball gown) and on the way out the mother chewed them out for coming in the house with me to help! When it clearly states in the contract that the bridal party can accompany the bride/groom inside when needed. I went back and told her mother I'm sorry the girls came in that it was my fault because the contract said it was ok. Later Dee made my husband of one hour go into the house and apologize to her mother for ME apologizing to her! Which apparently the guard dog mother took as me "challenging the rules of the house".
And DO NOT HAVE DEE DO YOUR FLOWERS! The woman doesn't know what she is doing, she skimps on the amount of greens she uses, and she tried to use the spray from the wedding the day before mine and still charge me! When I reminded her the agreement was the arbor be covered in greens and that is what I paid for, she stated that she didn't think she had time to do it. So one of my bridesmaids god bless her, who is amazing with floral arranging busted out covering the arbor with greens, one hour before the wedding, when Dee was paid to do it. She still charged me for doing the arbor as well when she didn't do it.
The whole experience left a bad taste in not only my mouth but my families. We all agree that the general feeling is that these people DO NOT WANT to be doing weddings; they are only doing it to supplement their income to keep their house. It’s just very disappointing. I wish I had been given some warning. I'm not one to usually write reviews but this was a situation that everyone who is considering this location should know about.

*As for the rating system....the beauty of the location would be a 10, the rest a 1. So I’m rating them a 2.
